Draconic Fury

Pet Roundup: The Beakinator

“Draconic Fury”

The Beakinator is pretty straightforward: he’s a boss-level pet who hits hard and heals himself. On the other hand, the Beakinator is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until your pets are dead.

My lineup:

Nexus Whelpling (p/p) (Tail Sweep, Mana Surge, Arcane Storm)

Arcane Eye (p/s) (Focused Beams, Power Drain, Mana Surge)

Chrominius (h/h) (Arcane Explosion, Howl, Surge of Power)

Note: I don’t know that breed matters, but this is what I used.

My Strategy:

Start with the Whelpling.

  1. Arcane Storm.
  2. Mana Surge (Round 1/3).
  3. Mana Surge (Round 2/3).
  4. Mana Surge (Round 3/3).
  5. Swap to Chrominius.*
  6. Howl.**
  7. Surge of Power.

*If for some reason your Dragon dies before finishing all 3 rounds of Mana Surge, then simply bring in your Eye and hit Mana Surge.

**Chrominius will deal the finishing blow. With Howl up on the target, he should deal exactly 876 damage, which is the max the Beakinator can take in a single attack with the Boss ability factored in. Don’t drop Surge of Power until he is within killing range and will remain so despite healing (attacks while plagued heal ~250 HP).

Final Note: It rarely, but sometimes, happens that the Beakinator will get lucky with a crit or two. A single crit will one-shot your pet, so you may need to try again until RNG stops screwing you over. As always, remember that Lio offers you free pet healing.
